Year 6 Lille Visit

Lille 6 have arrived in Lille!

After a (slightly) delayed start we still made our train across the channel and have had a great day exploring the World War 1 trenches of Vimy Ridge before heading into Lille to have dinner at Flunch. This was followed by a wonderful wander in the early evening sunshine around Lille itself.

Laurent, our teacher contact in our link school, shared some great facts about the history of Lille as we explored the old town including the town hall, the main square and the wonderful concert hall before heading back to the hostel for showers and bed - just in time to see Harry Kane's last minute winner for England!

We have an exciting day tomorrow in Belgium: buying our own lunch before heading to the historically important town of Ypres and the Flanders Fields museum. Come back tomorrow to see what we got up to!
