Lille Day THREE: PARIS!

PARIS - Day Three:

Wow! What a day we had yesterday... as I currently write this Year 6 are currently enjoying a well deserved lie-in after an epic day exploring Paris.

An early start (around 6am!) to catch the train from Lille to Paris Gare du Nord was followed by a lovely morning walk up to Sacre Coeur at Montmatre where we were joined by TWO special guests - Laurie and Noah who took timeout from Wales to join us for the day. We took the 300, yes THREE HUNDRED, steps to the top to enjoy some spectacular views of a VERY hot Paris.

Having planned the trip as part of a lesson last week, the children knew exactly where to head next - south east to the Metro were we headed to Notre Dame. Lunch was followed by a walk around this iconic building before taking the Batobus for a scenic boat trip along the Seine: along the way we discovered some of the amazing architecture that Paris had to offer.

We cruised along the Seine towards the Eiffel Tower - which looks just as impressive every time it is seen. The children loved it! We took the boat back to wards Notre Dame and headed back towards the station. An 8:52pm train accompanied by a cheeky McDonald's (sorry parents!) and we were back and showered, ready for bed!

We were so proud of their attitude yesterday, it was extremely hot but their behaviour was exemplary: we were complimented on more than one occasion by tourists and Parisiens alike! I'm sure the children can't wait to tell you all about it!
